Tabata Timer

High-intensity interval training — 20s on, 10s off

What is Tabata Training?

Dr. Izumi Tabata designed the protocol in 1996 studying Japanese speed skaters. The format: 20 seconds of all-out effort, 10 seconds of rest, 8 rounds. Four minutes total. That's it. The brevity is the point — the intensity is high enough that 4 minutes taxes both aerobic and anaerobic systems more than a moderate 60-minute jog.

How to Use This Tabata Timer

Pick your exercise. Hit Start. The timer handles the rest — audio cues at every transition so you can keep your eyes on the work instead of the clock. The default is 20s on, 10s off, 8 rounds, but you can adjust the work duration, rest duration, and round count in the settings panel.
